Maurice Bryson – founder

Maurice holds a BSc in marine biology from the University of St Andrews and an MSc in carbon finance from the University of Edinburgh Business School. Following a career in sustainable finance and broadacre agriculture, Maurice founded Silicate to help catalyse carbon dioxide removal.

Professor Frank McDermott MRIA, PGeo – scientific lead

Professor McDermott is director of the National Centre for Isotope Geochemistry at University College Dublin (UCD), teaches at UCD’s School of Earth Sciences, and has publications on a range of topics including igneous petrology, paleoclimatology, U-series dating for paleoanthropology, groundwater geochemistry, silicate weathering and the links between climate change and wind/solar energy resources.
